Sharing about the report, Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Oanh – Sales and External Relations Director of Coc Coc, said: “With the advantage of local understanding and a large user base, Coc Coc deeply understands the needs and concerns of Vietnamese users based on their browser usage habits and search behavior. From there, we provide accurate data analysis and reports to illustrate the digital world and the events and transformations in many fields.”
The report highlights 4 major trends that Vietnamese people are interested in for 2022, including: Tightening spending, prioritizing essentials; Premiumization; Digital shift, online shopping, and enhancing experience and living value.
Based on the data from the report, the most notable trend for Vietnamese internet users is online shopping and cashless payment. Particularly, where there are digital users, there is e-commerce. This clearly reflects people’s interest in digital shift in consumption, especially in the context where the Vietnamese government has been promoting digital transformation in all areas.
However, with the approaching Lunar New Year of the Tiger, users tend to be smarter in spending by tightening their budget and prioritizing essentials. Vietnamese people also have high expectations for brands, especially in terms of price and service quality. Specifically, up to 65% of users are concerned about price stability and discount programs and promotions.
Along with the increasing middle-class and the recovery of tourism, the trend of premiumization is demonstrated by Vietnamese people’s demand for food and accommodation. The search volume for keywords such as “villa,” “resort,” and “5-star hotel” has all increased compared to the previous quarter, with growth rates of 53%, 35%, and 21%, respectively.
